Larry Madowo Gets on New TV Stations

NTV's popular show The Trend, hosted by news anchor Larry Madowo will now be viewed in three more TV stations.

In a new partnership unveiled by the Nation Media Group (NMG), some programmes on NTV including Madowo's The Trend will be aired on regional broadcasters; Star TV, Njata TV and Lolwe TV.

On Thursday, NMG announced that it had signed a deal with the stations as part of its objective to transform the Group into a 21st Century digital content company.

“Our partners through this arrangement will have access to our key programmes such as NTV news, Breaking news, The Trend, Sports Shows etc. We believe this will help both parties build audiences and increase reach throughout the country,” part of the statement reads.

NMG hopes the move will help their programmes reach a bigger audience in the country.

On June 30 this year, Nation Media Group (NMG) announced that it was embarking on a restructuring process and consolidated its two television stations into one, NTV.

Besides closing down QTV, the giant media house stated that it was also scaling down its traditional radio business in Kenya (Nation FM and QFM ) and Rwanda (KFM).

The media house said the move was aimed at transforming NMG into a "modern 21st-century digital content company" which resulted in a number of employees losing jobs.
