SAD!!! Songstress Akothee Loses Twin Pregnancy

Sad news have hit the Kenyan entertainment scene after singer Akothee collapsed at a train station in Geneva, Switzerland Tuesday, August 30.

The ‘Yuko Moyoni’ singer was rushed to hospital and her condition(as at Tuesday) was said to be ‘not good’, according to her manager Nelson Oyugi.

The insanely popular singer is expecting twins, but doctors at a Geneva hospital say they can’t feel the second unborn baby’s heartbeat.

“The condition as per now is not good she was expecting twins but the doctor can’t feel the second heartbeat. We are crossing fingers as the lives of both are in danger,” Nelson told eDaily.

On Tuesday, she was taken to the theatre for surgery.

“As per today morning (Tuesday), the doctor says they have to save the mother,” said Nelson.

In a post on his social media pages, Nelson revealed what happened at the train station.

“The weekend in Geneva was very promising you made us laugh & made the whole family feel the vibe ,but you made me worried of how hyper & happy you were ,only to change into something else at the station waiting for our train back to basel our way back to basel was traumatic don’t know how to help , can’t wait to see you smile again , my smiling queen a happy soul get well soon.”

Nelson has further urged fans and members of the public to respect the singer’s privacy and share information that won’t cause panic to her family.

“Dear Fans, kindly be advised that Akothee is currently undergoing urgent treatment and will need your prayers. We urge you to respect her family’s privacy during this difficult time thanks for your support,” he said.

We wish Akothee a speedy recovery.

UPDATE: On Tuesday evening, Nelson revealed Akothee had lost her twins and that she was in stable condition.

“Unfortunately the babies did not make it,” Nelson said.

“She (Akothee) has just come out of the theatre. Her condition is stable. We are now waiting for her to recover from anesthesia.”
