Deputy President William Ruto found himself on the receiving end of online criticism after a past photo taken in Makueni County on June 22 was unearthed on social media.
The picture, which has elicited a myriad of reactions, captures Mr Ruto handing over bundles of cash during a public event with police officers in the background watching in dismay.
Interestingly, the one receiving the money was visibly overwhelmed as he seemed unable to carry it alone.
Ruto's gesture was termed by a section of the public as mockery to the police officers who reportedly get peanuts while working for the Government.
The image which has been highlighted a day after the DP's office was ranked the most corrupt in a recent poll, added fuel to the sharp criticism against Mr Ruto.
Others, however, had a different opinion on the photo stating that Ruto's donation was much appreciated if it was geared towards development.
