Kibra MP Attacked During The Launch of Raila Education Centre

Kibra Member of Parliament (MP) Kenneth Okoth found himself in trouble during the launch of Raila Education Centre when a section of youth turned against him branding him a traitor.

When Okoth stood up to address the gathering, infuriated youth shouted and pelted stones at him forcing him to cut his speech short.

The legislator came down from the podium, rushed to his car and sped off to safety after the residents became uncontrollable.

The youth questioned the absence of ODM leader Raila Odinga who was scheduled to attend the grand opening but failed to turn up without any explanation.

The locals also questioned the red colours that were seen in the building claiming Okoth was a Jubilee mole and was an embarrassment to Odinga.

“This project was initiated by Baba. He looked for international partners who have helped built it. For Okoth to brand it a government project is an insult. We won’t entertain it,” Joseph Otieno, one of the resident stated.

Another local said, “Look at the colours. The plaque, the block and the tents are all in red. You don’t have to be a PhD holder to know this is a JP marketing event.”

Unconfirmed reports indicate the MPs car was destroyed after a section of the youth hurled stones at the vehicle as Okoth was leaving.
