Hotbed of terror? Kiswahili speaking terrorists in Quantico 2

The American television hit series Quantico is back on the small screen for season two, and apart from the usual nonstop action and never ending suspense which the series usually serves up in huge doses, this new season has an interesting twist.

The main protagonist is Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) who finds herself in the middle of New York City where a bunch of bombs go off and a terrorist group, The Citizens’ Liberation Front, take a room full of diplomats and politicians hostage, including US President Todd (Danny Johnson).

Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin) and Raina Amin (Yasmine Al Massri) also return, appearing at the G20 World Summit.

With Raina translating in Swahili, the terrorists offer their demands and end it with a shocking beheading! But why Kiswahili? Is it because Kenya is a ‘hotbed of terror’ the West prefer portraying us?

The series come hot on the heels of the roller-coaster events of season one, in which Alex Parish (Priyanka Chopra) cleared her name, saved millions of lives, and discovered that the mastermind behind it all was the very man who had trained her at Quantico.

But in the final moments of the season finale, she was given the chance to serve her country again, in the clandestine ranks of United States’ top intelligence agency, the CIA.

When season two begins, Alex finds herself at ‘The Farm,’ the CIA’s mysterious training facility. Besides Quantico, Kiswahili also features in the first episode of Elementary season 5.
