Maasai Curse Forces Billionaire Tom Cholmondeley's Family to Do This

The family of the late Billionaire Tom Cholmondeley has been forced to act after Maasai elders threatened them with a curse over a murder committed by the deceased 11 years ago.

The Maasai elders said they had performed a ritual on the gravesite of a former Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) ranger, Samson ole Sisina, to curse Cholmondeley for killing him and even claimed it would progress to their family members.

The family has now agreed to compensate the kin of the KWS ranger with 50 head of cattle.

This comes barely a week after Sisina's wife contacted lawyer Katwa Kigen to stop the tycoon's burial until she is compensated. Kigen is apparently the billionaire's family lawyer.

It was during this period the family spokesman revealed of the curse which according to them, could have led to the death of the Cholmondeley.

“It was a serious thing and it was conducted by very elderly Maasai. So when the elders heard the news, they knew it was a confirmation that the rituals still work.

“The curse will follow the kin even after the death of the killer. They must go back to Sisina’s family,” Torome, the family spokesman said.

Sisina’s widow, Lucy, echoed the sentiments and warned that the curse would go beyond the killer to other family members until the death of her husband is compensated.

“According to the Maa culture, there are more misfortunes on the way. My children are living in abject poverty. They have stopped going to school and their tears will continue haunting them,” said Lucy.

The family demanded 49 head of cattle and 27 acres of the Delamere expansive ranch in Naivasha failure to which they would interrupt the burial.

The deceased will be laid to rest on Friday at his family’s farm in Soysambu, Gilgil.
