Watch as Kenyan Baby is Rescued from 30-feet Pit Latrine

A two-week-old infant was on Thursday miraculously rescued from a 30-feet pit latrine in Narok County.

According to two witnesses, the baby was dumped in the toilet located near a slaughterhouse by a woman believed to be the mother. The eyewitnesses revealed that they saw a woman heading to the toilet with a wrapped baby but on leaving, she no longer had it.

After some time, an officer working at the slaughterhouse heard cries emanating from the toilet and responded immediately.

The revenue officer was joined by other workers and together they tried to pull out the baby, but did not succeed.

They alerted the police who arrived at the scene and used a long rod to hook on the baby's swaddle and removed it alive.

The toddler newborn was rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital for emergency treatment.

Police have launched a manhunt for the woman whom residents believe had the sole intention of killing the baby.
