Best female Standard VII pupil reveals her ‘secret’

The top most girl countrywide in the recently announced Standard Seven National Examinations, Justina Gerald from Tusiime Primary School wants to be an accountant and a business proprietor once she is through with her higher learning studies
Justina, who was the fourth and the only girl in the top ten list of best pupils countrywide, said the secret to her success lies in knowing why she was in school and the fact that her parents and the community were closely monitoring her performance.
“Hard work and knowing why you are in school will definitely get you good results at the end..I honestly want to express my gratitude to teachers at Tusiime and the management for their relentless efforts in pushing us to study,” Justina said when she was interviewed by Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC1).
She explained that from early on, she noted that her parents and other people around her were following her performance closely, forcing her to put more efforts in her studies. Justina noted that her desire is to be an accountant or a business woman once she completes her higher education.
Her mother, Ms Edna Majaliwa expressed her appreciation to Tusiime management and teachers for their efforts that saw her daughter clinch the fourth position in the country and the leading girl in the Standard Seven results.
Tusiime school on the other hand came fifth nationwide with more pupils than other primary schools in the top ten list in this year’s Standard Seven examination results.
The examination results announced recently by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) Executive Secretary, Dr Charles Msonde, placed Tusiime with 210 pupils on board as it managed to produce two pupils in the top ten list of best candidates countrywide.
The other candidate is Shaban Mavunde who was fifth in the list. Tusiime Primary School came first out of 81 other primary schools in Ilala District and the second in Dar Es Salaam Region out of 404 schools and fifth nationwide out of 8,109 schools.
