Al-Shabaab on early Thursday morning killed six people in Mandera Town in the latest terror attack carried out by the militia.
The attack happened in a residential area in Bulla Public Works at 2 a.m as the tenants were asleep.
Police said the attackers forced their way in by blowing the entrance using grenades and went ahead to shot indiscriminately at the tenants.
Confirming the incident, Mandera Governor Ali Roba termed the attack as a sad incident and thanked the security teams for their swift response which saw 27 out of the 33 tenants rescued.
Hundreds of lives have been lost in the area in the recent past through coordinated attacks carried out by the Al-Shabaab terror group who sneak into the country from neighbouring Somalia.
On April 2, 2015, 148 people were killed at the Garissa University College in one of the deadliest attack carried out by Al-Shabaab on Kenyan soil.
