CBE introduces two new postgraduate programmes

THE College of Business Education (CBE) has introduced two postgraduate programmes to be offered in the upcoming academic year to fill the existing gap in higher cadre of international business management field and promote problem solving in supply chain management.
The CBE Rector, Prof Emanuel Mjema, said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the entry requirements for both courses are undergraduate degree with Upper Second Class or postgraduate diploma in any business related studies from accredited higher learning institutions.
He was speaking during a stakeholders meeting to improve the proposed curricula for the two new courses namely Master’s degree in International Business Management (MIBM) and Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management (MSCM).
Prof Mjema pointed out the objectives of MIBM course as to provide comprehensive International Business Management knowledge and skills and develop International Business strategies.
“The course is aimed at producing innovative, creative and skilled graduates for managerial positions in International Business sector,” he observed. Prof Mjema mentioned the objectives of MSCM course as to develop techniques useful for Supply Chain Management (SCM) and promote problem solving and decision making ability on SCM.“It’s intended to produce graduates with high level knowledge and skills in Supply Management Chain,” he said.
Last month, CBE announced to reform the metrology programme to cope with the current changes in science and technology to enable its graduates to be competent in the area.
The CBE Rector told the ‘Sunday News’ that the college had added measurements of oil and gas in the course to provide the country with enough experts in measuring natural resources.
“The subject of oil and gas has been added in the metrology course after the discovery of natural gas,” said the CBE Rector during the World Metrology Day.
According to Prof Mjema, metrology plays a key role in scientific discovery, innovation and trade and that the profession facilitates the standardization, quality control and reliability of industrial products.
