KILIMANJARO Queens players today made a stop in Bukoba to pay homage to the victims of earthquakes ravaged Kagera some two weeks ago.
The quake struck the region merely 24 hours before the team left Bukoba to Kampala, Uganda to attend CECAFA Women Championship.
The team camped for three days in Bukoba. Upon arrival in Bukoba the team, which were Tuesday crowned the champions of the 1st edition of the CECAFA Women, presented the trophy to Kagera Regional Commissioner Major General (Rtd) Salim Kijuu.
The Queens lifted the trophy after hammering Kenya 2-1.
