KTN investigative journalist Mohammed Ali on Monday night made outrageous claims alleging that the Jubilee Government was plotting to have him lose his job at the Standard Group Limited.
Mr Ali, who was in an online fight with State House Director of Digital Communication Dennis Itumbi, claimed that the Government was working hard to silence him ahead of the 2017 General Election.
“You guys are planning to silence me from asking more questions. You are afraid of my presence in the media come 2017,” Ali said.
The Jicho Pevu reporter divulged that he was not alone in the list of journalists that Jubilee was seemingly hunting down stating: “Dennis Itumbi I know Jubilee Government is pushing for my sacking and few other Journalist who are fighting for Kenyans by exposing the rot. I know what you are afraid of.”
An unmoved Ali noted that he was ready to fight, assuring Itumbi that he would be the Government's 'worst nightmare' come 2017.
In a rejoinder, Itumbi told off Ali highlighting that if he wanted to join politics he ought to leave the newsroom in order to be objective.
“Mine is a simple message, if you want to join politics, you are welcome to exercise your democratic right, but first leave the Newsroom. That is objectivity,” Itumbi mentioned.
The KTN journalist has been on the spot for openly aligning himself with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party, with reports indicating that he will be vying for the Nyali Parliamentary seat.
