A few days before
the Jubilee Party launch, ODM functionaries announced that they would
be heading to Mombasa where they would hold a mega celebration to
mark the party’s 10th anniversary.
Perhaps in a bid to
match the grandiosity expressed by their Jubilee counterparts, ODM
made a number of grand promises including having 823 expensive
vehicles traverse the country popularising ODM's agenda.
Other promises
included the launch of 47 branded buses, making a huge birthday cake
prepared by expert chefs, as well as flying two international
musicians to perform during the celebrations.
While there may be
questions about whether all the promises were met, there is no doubt
that two international musicians flew in for electrifying
performances at Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa.
Naseen Abdul Juma
popularly known by his stage name, Diamond Platnumz, jetted in from
the United States where he was on tour while his nemesis Ali Kiba
flew in from Tanzania in time for the ODM celebrations.
Reports indicate the
organisers paid Diamond a sum of Sh 5 Million for the performance
while Ali Kiba pocketed Sh3 Million for the performance.
