POLL: Do You Think Joho Will Agree To Be Raila’s Running Mate?

There is increasing chatter of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho being Raila’s running mate in 2017.

Joho has in recent weeks established himself as ODM’s number 2, pulling massive crowds wherever he goes. Kalonzo and Wetangula have meanwhile been left to watch from the sidelines as people accuse them of ‘lazing around’ as they wait for baba’s endorsement.

As Joho’s profile continues to rise, people are seeing him as a viable option for Raila’s running mate. That would put him on the path to State House.

Some political pundits however say that would be ‘political suicide’, and his best option is to remain as governor and enter the presidential race in 2022. Many believe that Raila has very slim chances of being president in 2017, and having Joho as his running mate would leave the Mombasa governor in the cold for 5 years.

Though nothing is certain, it is highly unlikely that Joho will accept being Raila’s running mate, considering some of his utterances to the effect that he will fight it out with Ruto in 2022.
